Makno

MAKNO: managing knowledge in intercultural learning communities

Every organisation has its own life, its own rules and its own roles. Members of group share knowledge for belonging to its. Often "declared rules and knowledge" don't fit perfectly with true and not-said rules that are used.

Awareness is the key word for managing this kind of matter and improving effectiveness of actions performed by organisations. Overall when actions have to be creative for resolving intercultural gap, conflicts, etc. In fact organisations involved in intercultural issues need to know well their resources and weak points since they are (or they should be) continuously engaged in conceiving and designed creative communication solutions to "innovative" demands coming from continuous transformations of our society that is growing more and more, becoming more and more complex, because of meetings among different cultures where differences identify everyone as "other" for the others.

Our approach is the constructivist one. The exchange of competences between partners will achieve through a peer to peer approach. In fact we consider learning as a social practice and so knowledge is the shared product of a common process in which each subject ( individual or collective) shares its skills, know-how, practices, etc. We'll build up a virtual learning community among staff of involved organisations as main tool for achieving it.

In short, we intend:

Improve pedagogical approaches and the management of adult education organisations

  • exchanging methodologies and tools used in managing knowledge and learning processes within organisations of immigrant’s integration and cultural mediation
  • improving skills and abilities of participant organisations in use of creative approaches, methodologies and tools in informal and non-formal learning within inter-cultural framework

Support the social inclusion of migrants

  • developing methodologies and tools in order to improve effectiveness of involved organisations in theirs daily work aimed at integration among migrants and autochthones.
